Tango Touch POS Terminals - Enhancing Customer Experience at Computex Taipei 2017

Taipei, Taiwan – May 30, 2017 – DataVan, one of the world’s leading Point of Sale hardware providers, will be showing the Tango series of POS terminals at Computex 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan. DataVan, which opened its Computex campaign with a win in the prestigious Computex d&i awards, will be welcoming Computex visitors at booth #K0627 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, from May 30 to June 3.

The Tango Series of POS terminal inspires business to explore new opportunities and embrace change. The modern, harmonious industrial design, which was recognized by international judges in the Computex d&i awards, fits any retail, hospitality and point-of-service environment.

Enhance customer experience and satisfaction

Innovative, flexible features like the flip-over design and 16:9 ratio widescreen touch display redefine how retailers engaging customers, reducing friction and enhancing the brick-and-mortar experience. The bi-directional rotatable display makes it easy for store associates to quickly show digital content to customers, allowing customers to take actions in real-time, e.g. enter passwords, capture signatures or confirm decisions. The display further encourages marketing initiatives by allowing personalized promotions and services.

Support secure payment and QR code applications

Tango terminals support fast, safe and secure payment technology with EMV encryption, allowing both contact and contactless card payment. The integrated 2D barcode scanner can accept third-party payment via QR code; capture e-coupons/e-tickets right from customers’ smartphone screens, and integrate with loyalty programs, etc.

Modular design and unified interface

A unified touchscreen user interface across devices cuts staff training expenses and reduces costly errors. The “building block” modular design allows Tango terminals to adapt to customer needs by adding or removing functions as required, thanks to modules such as secure payment, customer display, barcode reading, and management.

Optional hardware features include a 10 inch secondary LCD or VFD customer display; and identification via fingerprint, RFID or iButton. The Tango Pay contactless reader can support MSR and EMV SCR, with EMV level 1/2 approval – ensuring fast, safe and secure payments.

Strong hardware foundation

Internally, Tango terminals are based on Intel® embedded platform technology for full compatibility with the widest range of software and development tools, including Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and other Windows versions, as well as Linux. The fanless low-noise Tango 615W and 617W feature the Intel® Celeron® J1900 CPU at 2.4GHz. Some forthcoming models, such as the Tango 815W and 817W offer powerful 6th Gen Intel® Core™ CPUs. Connectivity and expansion options include seven USB ports (2x USB 3.0), two DB9 COM/Serial connectors for legacy hardware support, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, and 12/24V RJ12 cash drawer connector. IP65 front bezel protection guards against dust and liquid spills to prolong operating life.
